Mug Monday & Late 2020 Resolutions

Happy Mug Monday!

It´s already the second Monday of the new year and boy, it´s something uneventful. I don´t want to bash on everyone’s Monday vibes. It´s just that things haven´t been as exciting for me lately.

As you might remember, I was gone for a while ( depending on how much of a dedicated follower you are to have noticed ). It looks like I disappeared into thin air without further notice. Which I did.

I´m going to flat out blame life for my lack of blogging.

Since I´m back on track, I have some things I need to get done. Catching up on the usual book blog stuff is one of those things. That´s something that´ll probably take up the majority of January.

Oh! Short interruption! The mug!

The `Love Yourself` mug. ( I´ll have you know that this mug can take nearly 400 ml ( that´s roughly around 1 1/2 cups ) of whatever. That´s a lot of hot chocolate, coffee or tea. I underestimated the size ) Back to the topic:

Then there are my 2020 resolutions. Yes, I decided to load my plate with self promises that I may or may not be able to keep.

A good ( and realistic ) 2020 resolution of mine is to be satisfied and content with life. That´s a goal I can definitely accomplish.

As for book blogging… I have a few new goals I think would improve my overall book blogging existence.

  1. Just flat out tell idiots to go to the place where the sun doesn´t shine or just ignore them ( depending on the idiot, of course ). I know, this doesn´t seem like the kindest way to deal with online hate. But, if you´ve tried everything else and still can´t seem to reason with idiots then there´s always the direct approach. Works in real life, so… This approach shouldn´t fail me here.
  2. Be more focused on my own book blog happiness. If I put all my energy into posts I think people would want to see rather than investing my all in the stuff that makes me happy then I´m book blogging for others and not myself. This is still a hobby I´m supposed to enjoy.
  3. Talk more about the book universe. Ha! If you think there isn´t much to tell then you´re wrong. I have a whole Google doc form filled with all sorts of book-related stuff. The main goal here is to make people aware of these unbelievable situations and to highlight the good and maybe have a good laugh in between. Yes, there are fantastic things happening all around us. We need more bookish goodness in our book-loaded lives.

That´s it. Nothing more, nothing less. I´m giving myself more book blogger freedom.

I wish I could come up with more genius ways to make 2020 an unforgettable year but I can´t think of anything else. 2019 wasn´t so terrible so I guess I´ll just continue as were only with a few adjustments.

What about you? Do you have any 2020 resolutions? Any goals ( other than the reading challenge ) you´d like to achieve? Let me know in the comments below. I´d love to chat ❤

That´s it for this week, dear bookish Padawans.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post.

Hope to see ya soon ❤

Much book love,

Happy New Year!

Dear Followers, Friends, Family, Book Bro´s and everyone else I forgot to mention,

For those of you who aren´t suffering from a major hangover….

I wish you all the best for 2019! May the new year bring you lots of love, joy, happiness and success!

For those who are currently wasting away from a huge hangover… Go back to bed. You ain´t no help at the moment.

It´s the start of 2019, people. Can you believe it? 2018 is finally history.

I can´t say I´m too sad 2018 is behind us. To be perfectly honest – I´m more than happy to enter the new year. 2018 was challenging ( and that´s putting it nicely ). Countless colds, nagging teachers, pointless discussions with helicopter parents, surviving the heat wave… I am literally pooped.

I wasn´t able to reach my bookish goals, either. All the challenges I´ve started turned out great and quickly morphed into a terrible idea.

But not all was worthless. Along my path of constant failure I managed to meet new book bloggers and even find new awesome blogs to stalk. So, with that being said…. I think it´s definitely okay to flip 2018 off and welcome the new year with open arms.

Oh yes. I´m ready. I´m more than ready. I´m already at the starting line just waiting to sprint towards my new projects. As for book goals – I don´t have any for this year. Since I´m so good at setting goals and reaching them I thought it would be a much better idea to remain in the horizontal position more often than try to reach half hearted goals.

Life motto for 2019

So, if I don´t have goals then what will my purpose be for 2019? I´ll enlighten you.

I plan to do exactly too much of everything and a lot of nothing. It´ll be chaotic. It´ll be a bookish anarchy. And I´ll love every minute of it. I´ll do the unexpected and go against the grain and all. But first… I´m going to catch up on some sleep. I have no new year resolutions. My only hope is that I´ll survive 2019 and not end up gaining wrinkles.

There ya have it.

Tell me: Do you have any bookish goals for 2019? What should 2019 look like for you? Let´s chat. ❤

I hope you all have a wonderful day.

Share the book love.

yours truly,

Top 5 2018 Bookish Resolutions

“2018 will be my book year.” I said.

“I´ll expand my horizon and have a more open mind towards other genres.” I said.

Right before we waved the old year a goodbye and welcomed the new year Stefan ( the hubs) and I decided to make a list. Our very own 2018 New Years Resolution list.

Aside from the things we´d like to achieve together as a family, and as a young married couple, we thought it would be a good idea to make a separate list just for ourselves.

Making a list for myself did make me laugh out loud. I´ve never created a New Year´s Resolution list for myself. What would I write down? That I want to eat healthier? I try that every day. How about going to bed earlier? * wave off * I kissed that idea good-bye after my oldest was born. And saving money? Hey, being middle-class is also expensive. So what could I possibly add to my own New Year´s list? I wanted to add something meaningful because, let´s face it… Adding things like remembering to clean my glasses isn´t that meaningful.

I had an idea.

Morgana´s Revolutionary, Apocalyptic 2018 New Year´s Resolution Book List

Ha! Now, that´s something I can always work with. Books. It was only a matter of thinking about the stuff I would like to achieve regarding books or blogging. My revolutionary and apocalyptic ideas began to bloom.

  1. Cut Down On Social Media

Yeah. Blogging can be tough, especially when you don´t know where to lay your eggs ( meaning, where to focus my attention ). In 2017 I was all over the place. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, WordPress, Wattpad, Tumblr. Even Goodreads… Was being scattered on Social Media worth it for me? Absolutely not. I figured I´d have fewer headaches if I´d concentrate on a few social media that actually meant something to me.

  1. Blog Consistently

A challenge for me. One I´m ready to accept because it´ll only benefit me in the long run. 2017 blogging is over. Gone. 2018 will be about being punctual, informative and fun, regularly.

  1. Read More Out Of My Genre Comfort-Zone

For years I avoided genre´s such as Sci-Fi and Dystopian. On a few occasions I´d read a Fantasy or Paranormal but that was about it. I stuck to Romance novels because it´s what I enjoyed most. But Romance get´s boring after a while. Every character is broken-hearted at some point and most have their happily ever after ( after 1 or 3 books). Besides- I´m seeing so many fab cover features on Instagram… It´s time to expand my horizon. It´s time to find something non-romance. Or something otherworldly that involves romance. ( I don´t think I´m ready to kick romance completely.)

  1. Use My Kindle More Often

I´ve mentioned many times before in my other posts that I´m a paperback lover through and through. Nothing beats a good old book. Nothing! I remember when the Kindle Paperwhite went on sale I was hell-bent on getting one. An e-book reader like the Paperwhite with all it´s pro´s and hardly any con´s? That thing had my name on it! Fast forward a few years later: I hardly have any books on my Kindle. I just can´t warm up to the e-book reader. Sure, it comes in handy when I travel but when I´m out of the country I hardly spend time reading. I´m out and about, exploring new places. No. 2018 will be my „Morgana´s going to buy more ebooks“ year. What a waste to pay loads of money for something that only collects dust, right?

  1. Read More Books

Another challenge. Life is busy. I have 2 kids and a husband who often need my full attention. Plus work and appointments and whatever else I usually deal with. Although I make time for reading it´s not really enough. I used to read more, even with kids. When did life become so busy? No more, I say! This busy life needs to slow down.

So, there you have it. My outrageous, fantabulous, extraordinary list of 2018 New Years Resolutions. If you have any ideas for me to add to my list then feel free to comment them! Or just let me know what your bookish-resolutions are, if you have any at all. I would love to find out what your 2018 will look like.

Here´s to a successful book year!

Much Love,

Morgana xxx
