Books, Baths & Boobs – Recreating Bookstagram Images: Part 8

Alas! We´ve come to the end of Books, Baths & Boobs. Today I´ll reveal my final Bookstagram recreation. I thought I´d save the best for last, you know? To show the most controversial theme of all Bookstagram themes:

Books & Boobs.

I bet you´ve been wondering where the boobs part in the title fits into my series.  Surely, Bookstagrammers wouldn´t… Or would they?

I´m here to tell you they do. And I´ve recreated one of these Books & Boobs features. Why? Because I can. Because I wanted to.

Contrary to popular belief – Bookstagram is not reduced to books only. As you´ve seen from all my other Bookstagram recreations.. Bookstagram is about creativity. There are no rules to creativity. Use the tools you have in order to create beautiful Bookstagram content.

Some Bookstagrammers feature books.

Some Bookstagrammers want to talk about books.

The Bookstagram feature below belongs to the Bookstagram blogging styles that want to stop someone from scrolling further and get them interested enough to want to read their book-related captions. I´m perfectly fine with that.

I chose a Bookstagram image from Bookstagrammer @odm87 to recreate.

This. Is. Beautiful. odm87 has an insta-feed to die for. She has a lovely mix of book features alongside stunning images of herself WITH books. Her captions are book-related and engaging. This is creativity. I always love when this Bookstagrammer uploads a new image.

I guess it´s time to reveal my copy, huh?  I guess it´s fair to say that whatever I do, however hard I try… I won´t ever come close to the original Bookstagram image from @odm87.  I can´t reach that woman´s waters. Doesn´t mean I can´t have fun trying, though, right?

If I had to categorize my copy I´d say it belongs on the `decent` shelf. I don´t have long light blonde hair ( at the moment ) and… I´m not as blessed in the chest department as the Bookstagrammer is… but then again… I´m not blessed with photography skills or decorating skills, either.

How Did I Recreate odm87´s Bookstagram Image?

#1   You don´t need much. Just yourself, a bra ( that would help ) and a book. Maybe someone to help with the shot ( you need two hands to hold the book in place ). I started out with the help of my husband but eventually, I removed him from his photographer’s job and set up a stool on my bed then propped my phone on it and let the self-timer do its magic.

#2   Filters are your friend. Cropping is your best friend. The image itself wasn´t difficult and neither was photoshopping everything in place. In fact- you´re more occupied with working on the image than taking it. I think I spent a total of 30 minutes with this feature.

My Conclusion

Personally, I liked this recreation. It was super easy and fun. I totally get the appeal of this theme. I understand why some Bookstagrammers take this bookish route. You don´t have to be a fan of these types of images but you can definitely appreciate their beauty. I´d encourage any Bookstagrammer to try this Books & Boobs theme out ( should there be interest ). Most Bookstagrammers chat about the featured book and throw in how their day was while this type of feature allows a Bookstagrammer to talk about almost anything bookish. You can approach a controversial topic, pick a tagline from your favorite book and talk about that, you can ask book-related questions or even throw in a poem you saw and discuss the meaning/beauty of that. A huge bonus is that this book and boob thing could be an ego booster ( should anyone compliment on nice legs, nice cleavage, a beautiful back ).

Would I use my copy as an actual Bookstagram feature? Maybe. Lol.

It´s come to my attention that quite a few people don´t approve of this Bookstagram content because ( and I quote ) “They have nothing to do with books.” even if a book is included. I´m glad I´m here to clear up this nonsense because every Bookstagram feature is about a book or a book-related topic.

NOTE: If you´re a Bookstagrammer and would like to do this type of feature for your Bookstagram feed but are hesitant because of your body… Let me tell you something:

Screw it. No one´s perfect. I´m 37 years old and my body has survived 2 pregnancies. My glamour days have long passed. Didn´t stop me, though.

On Kind Note: If you´re a Bookstagrammer who doesn´t approve of this type of feature: No one´s stopping you from looking away.

That´s it, people. This was my last Bookstagram Recreation gig. I may, or may not feel moved to do another round sometime in the future. Possibly after I´ve recovered from doing these.

What do you think? Is this a recreation done right or is this a copy gone wrong? What are your thoughts on Books & Boob features? Let me know in the comments below. I´d love to chat. ❤

Thank you so much for following this experiment. I hope you enjoyed.

XO´s
