That’s all Adam Steinbeck demands of his wife.
Thirty days in a remote cottage, doing everything he demands. After that, he’ll sign her divorce papers and give her complete ownership of their company.
That’s how long he has to rediscover the man he once was. The Dominant Master he hid when he fell in love with her five years ago.
She wants the business they built badly enough to go to the cottage for a month. Cut off ties to the world and do his bidding. She can submit to him with her body, but her heart will never yield.
She thinks this is his pathetic attempt to repair their marriage.
To be honest- I´m not a huge fan of C.D. Reiss. The only books I´ve ever read from the author were `Kick` ( Songs of Perdition #1) and `Jessica` ( Songs of Dominance #1) and I didn´t care much for both enough to continue either series.
The only reason why I bought `Marriage Games` ( The Games Duet- Part One ) was because the description sounded really good. I can tell you- it´s been weeks since I finished this read and Imma still sweatin´. The fact that I loved this story surprised me shitless.
What a story!
`Marriage Games` is a BDSM story about a marriage gone wrong from the start. How can a marriage last when it´s built upon secrets? It can´t. But when those secrets are revealed you better have a portable freezer ready to stick your head in because this is one intense, hot as hell read.
The idea of the story isn´t anything new. It´s been written about at least a hundred times before, same goes for the BDSM. Been there, done that, bought the T-shirt. But the way it´s told here- Brilliant.
Adam desperately wanted to save his marriage with Diana. But how far was he willing to go?
Seriously, these characters played so well together. They were a team and they functioned. But when it came down to what mattered it was either a make or break situation.
It´s passionate, unpredictable, exciting and unforgiving and you´ll feel like a live wire at the end.
Speaking of the end- The cliffhanger is one of the most brutal ones written in the history of books.
The Cover – 3 stars ( Meeh, * wave off * It´s nothing I´d go nuts over.)
The Story – 5 stars ( Perfectly angsty story with gripping elements. LOVE)
The Characters – 5 stars ( I loved both for who they were, for what they stood for, for how they dealt wth matters and how they ended. Both very powerful. )
My emotional state after finishing this read – Spent beyond words. Shocking ending, terrible book hangover afterwards. Just what I was hoping for.
I´m giving `Marriage Games` ( The Games Duet #1 ), by C. D. Reiss, 4 out of 5 stars
